Nancy C. Andrews, MD, PhD, became dean of the Duke University School of Medicine and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs in October 2007. She has received numerous awards and prizes for research and mentoring. Her laboratory research centers on iron homestasis and mouse models of human diseases. The bulk of this collection contains laboratory notebooks, as well as 5 external hard drives with digital files from the external backup drives of Jackie Lim, Wenjing Xu, and Pavle Matak, researchers in Andrews' lab. The materials in this collection date from 1998 to 2016.

The Davison Society is composed of the entire student body of the Duke University School of Medicine. The Davison Council is the student government organization for the Duke University Medical School. The Council consists of individuals both elected and appointed to handle matters as they pertain to the entire medical school. This collection primarily contains records from the Davison Society's Davison Council, the Student American Medical Association (SAMA), and the American Medical Student Association (AMSA). The majority of the records are from the 1970s and many deal with issues such as the Vietnam War, abortion, marijuana, women in medicine, and curriculum changes.
