Includes the day-to-day operating files for the office of the Director of Duke Hospital [Medical Center] and its affiliated institutions from August 1, 1968 until December 31, 1976. The records include correspondence, committee minutes, reports, grant applications, thesis, brochures, draft legislation, diagrams, organizational charts, forms, contracts, and a photograph. The files, among other things, provide evidence of social and economic changes in healthcare during the period of 1968-1976. Topics range from redecorating waiting rooms to patient rights. The materials date from 1952 to 1980.
