Dr. Bruce Schirmer, MD, graduated from Duke University School of Medicine in 1978, as well as completing his residency in General and Thoracic Surgery and a fellowship in Gastrointestinal Surgery Research at Duke. He joined the faculty at the University of Virginia in 1985.
