Contains reprinted articles, progress reports, and photographs of William W. Shingleton, the founding director of the Duke Cancer Institute. Reprints include Shingleton's first published scientific article, "Some Etiological Aspects of Hyperthyroidism" (1943), published in "The Journal of the Bowman Gray School of Medicine" and "Significance of Idiopathic Venous Thrombosis and Hidden Cancer" (1956), printed in the Journal of the American Medical Association." Photographs include portraits of Shingleton, Shingleton speaking at a Clinical Pathological Conference, and the walkway to the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Other publications include a brochure "How the Cancer Information Service Can Help You and a protocol "Adjuvant Therapy of Rectal Cancer" (1979). Materials date from 1943 to 1987.
