Biographical / historical:

Ann Jacobansky, a native of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, earned her nursing diploma at the Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She earned her BS and EdM degrees from the University of Pittsburg and served in the Army Nurse Corp from 1943 to 1945. Prior to working at Duke, Jacobansky served as a clinical instructor and educational director at the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburg. While at Duke, she served as an instructor, director of undergraduate nursing instruction, dean (1955-1958), and interim dean (1970-1971) of the School of Nursing.
