Photos exist throughout the collection and were not removed from their original context to this series. This series was created to house photos and scrapbooks that were stored separately from other photos integrated into files within the collection or that were too large to fit within those files. Note was made on the folders within other series when photos and other materials were removed. Materials date from 1849 to 1979.

Types of materials include correspondence, reports, committee materials, speeches, lectures, reference files, articles, papers, notes, research notes, grant reports, site visits, and presentations. Also included are works authored by Yount, Thomas Kunkle, Edward L. Beckman, C. V. Paganelli and Chick M. Yeung. Materials range in date from 1862 to 2000, with the bulk of materials dating from 1975 to 2000.

Contains floppy disks, project proposals, correspondence, reference files, meeting minutes, slides, articles, grant proposal, financial records, site visits, and reports. Materials range in date from 1876 to 1999, with the bulk of the materials dating from 1960 to 1999.

Contains letters, reports, photographs, diplomas, and newspaper clippings pertaining to Davison's biography and genealogy. Materials date from 1881 to 1972.

Contains scrapbooks and memorabilia pertaining to the Davison family, Princeton University, Merton College at Oxford University, sporting events, academics, and publications. Scrapbook 1 contains memorabilia from Princeton University, Merton College at Oxford University, holidays, and vacations. Scrapbook 2 contains memorabilia from Merton College at Oxford University, including academic, sports, and social events. Materials date from 1886 to 1964.

Contains Davidson's diplomas and awards. Materials date from 1887 to 1969.

Contains photographs, 35mm slides and other visual media of David C. Sabiston Jr., Philip R. Allison, Michael E. DeBakey, John H. Gibbon, William Stewart Halsted, Merel Harmel, Ralph Snyderman, William Anlyan, the Johns Hopkins Surgical Society, the David C. Sabiston Surgical Society, the Society of Clinical Surgery, and the Department of Surgery's Sabiston exhibition that was on display on the 7th floor of the HAFS building from circa 2005 to 2018. Portraits of Sabiston are largely organized by size. Materials date from 1887 to 2010 with a significant amount of the materials undated.

Contains appendices, which include short writings, memorabilia, correspondence, letters of appointment, wills, certificates, photographs, and newspaper clippings used for reference in Davison's personal writings and reminiscences. Materials date from 1892 to 1971.

Contains photographs, negatives, slides, and scrapbooks pertaining to Davison's family, education, associates, colleagues, and professional activities. Materials date from 1892 to 1972.

Contains several scrapbooks, programs, and testimonials honoring Blalock, as well as other biographical materials. Materials range in date from 1899 to 1964.

Contains articles, reprints, research notes, and research data. The articles and reprints in this series were not written by Snyderman. Many contain highlighted sections, underlining, annotations, and corresponding notes. Materials date from 1899 to 1989.

Contains personal correspondence, professional correspondence, and subject files. Correspondence between 1926 and 1937 concerns Davison moving to North Carolina and establishing residence in Durham. Materials date from 1900 to 1972.

Contains reprints, writings, and publications written and collected by Helen Kaiser over the course of her professional career; course outlines, examinations, and other course material compiled during Kaiser's time as a Professor of Physical Therapy at Duke University Medical Center; and correspondence, booklets, pamphlets, articles, committee and meeting minutes, reports, course descriptions and evaluations, floorplans, blueprints, grant files, photographic materials, and a scrapbook pertaining to Kaiser's time as the Director of Physical Therapy at Duke as well as her personal life. Materials date from 1903 to 2005, with the bulk of the material dating from 1912 to 1988.

Includes records pertaining to the transfer of ownership to Duke University, as well as the day-to-day operation and expansion of the hospital. Records include agreements, annual reports, architectural plans, appraisals, audits, brochures, budgets, clippings, correspondence, data on lawsuits resulting from fire and accidents, deeds, fiscal reports, historical essays, insurance papers, maps, minutes, monthly statements, newsletters, photographs, programs, publications, reports, as well as sale and lease papers. The files, among other things, include a glimpse of the perception of mental disorders and approaches to psychiatric treatment in mid-twentieth century America and the trials of running a small, ever expanding hospital. The records do not contain information on particular patients unless they died at the hospital and that information does not include patient records or notes. Topics include the 1948 fire, staffing issues, local real estate, mid-century modern furniture, and institutional kitchens. The record dates range from 1906-1978. The majority of the records are from 1939-1957.

This series contains conference materials including lecture notes, presentations, and meeting notes. Materials date from 1906 to 1995, although the bulk of the material is from 1955 to 1984.

William Steward Halsted (1852-1922) was a professor of surgery at Johns Hopkins University and credited with founding modern American surgery. While at Johns Hopkins, Halsted pioneered treatments for breast cancer, hernias, and gallstones. The series contains correspondence, research, and notes. Materials date from 1906 to 2001 with a significant amount of the materials undated.

Contains the personal papers of Bruce Wayne Dixon (1939-2013), former Duke Internal Medicine chief resident, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine professor, head of the Allegheny County Health Department, and community health expert. Types of materials include articles; photographs; memorials and tributes; and professional materials pertaining to his career in medicine such as his North Carolina Medical License, diploma from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and the letter awarding Dixon with the Memorial Prize in 1965 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. The collection also includes a silver bowl awarded to Dixon for teaching excellence at Duke, as well as a painting of the Schwab mansion in Braddock, Pennsylvania. Dixon bought the mansion and spent 25 years restoring the home. Materials date from 1906-2013.

This series is arranged alphabetically and materials date from 1908 to 1997, although the bulk of the documents are undated.

Contains course notebooks, scrapbooks, photographs, sporting and academia memorabilia, informal writings, correspondence, an application, a license to perform laboratory work, reunion letters, events memorabilia, and newspaper clippings pertaining to Davison's education at Princeton University, Merton College, Oxford University, and Johns Hopkins Medical School. Major subjects include the study of health and science, student governance, and sporting events. Materials date from 1909 to1938 (bulk 1909 to 1916).

Contains Watts Hospital ledgers documenting births and expenses. Materials date from 1909 to 1940.

Contains personal and professional writings by Hanes and other authors. It includes an essay titled "Sprue" and its drafts, as well as editorials, essays, literary reviews, research writings, speeches, and reprints of articles written by Hanes. Creative writings like plays and poems by Hanes are also located in this series. Materials are arranged alphabetically and date from 1909 to 1943.
