Sabiston Surgical Society, the Society of Clinical Surgery, and the Department of Surgery's Sabiston exhibition that was on display on the 7th floor of the HAFS building from circa 2005 to 2018. Portraits of Sabiston are largely organized by size. Materials date from 1887 to 2010 with a significant amount of the materials undated.

William Steward Halsted (1852-1922) was a professor of surgery at Johns Hopkins University and credited with founding modern American surgery. While at Johns Hopkins, Halsted pioneered treatments for breast cancer, hernias, and gallstones. The series contains correspondence, research, and notes. Materials date from 1906 to 2001 with a significant amount of the materials undated.

Contains a CV, congratulatory writings, special letters, correspondence, scrapbook pages, a gifted cross stitch piece, memorabilia, and drawings and photographs pertaining to David C. Sabiston Jr.'s family, friends, interests, and studies at UNC-Chapel Hill. The last names of some family and friends are unknown and only the first name is provided. Materials date from 1920 to 1998, with the bulk of material ranging from 1939 to 1943.

This series contains materials created by Sabiston at Johns Hopkins University: a sampling of operative notes showing Sabiston's approach to clinical treatments, curriculum materials, and hospital rounds notes. All personally identifiable health information has been redacted from these clinical treatment files. School of Medicine curriculum revision materials contain correspondence and other materials pertaining to a daily schedule, fees, staffing, fourth- and fifth- year curriculum planning, and some correspondence with Alfred Blalock. Materials date from 1934 to 1996.

This series contains memorabilia and artifacts pertaining to David C. Sabiston Jr.'s early education, later career as a surgeon, and as a leader in medical policy and administration. Types of materials include printed materials; science research papers from high school; teaching awards; certificates of appreciation; symposia recognition items; and notes of recognition from regional and international medical schools, associations, and agencies. Alfred Blalock (1899-1964) was the surgeon-in-chief of the John Hopkins Hospital, professor, and director of the surgery department at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (1941-1964). Blalock, Surgical Technician Vivien Thomas, and Pediatric Cardiologist Helen Taussig developed the "blue baby" operation and treatments for surgical shock. This series contains correspondence, programs, presentations, articles, curriculum vitae, and speeches relating to Blalock. Materials date from 1940 to 1989.
