Contains correspondence, minutes, proposals, brochures, and clippings pertaining to Hill's involvement in various organizations, including the American Society of Biological Chemists (ASBC), now the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, particularly as it interacted with the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) as a member society. Other subjects include Hill's involvement with the "Journal of Biological Chemistry," "Trends in Biological Sciences," and the "American Association for the Advancement of Science." The series also contains papers concerning Duke's relations with the Federation of American Scientists, along with Hill's dealings with the National Science Foundation and the National Academy of Sciences. The papers mainly consist of correspondence (both from and to Robert Hill, as well as those cc'd to him from other organizational members), memorandums, minutes, and reports. Much of them deal with membership, funding, and general finance or budgeting topics. Materials date from 1971 to 1983.
