Dr. O. Michael Colvin (1936-2013) served as director of the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center from 1995 to 2002, and as William Shingleton Professor of Cancer Research from 2002 to 2008. In addition to his administrative and educative roles, Colvin conducted pioneering research on cyclophosphamide and other alkylating agents, in the pursuit of bettering chemotherapy and tumor treatment.
