Consists of committee meeting minutes, correspondence, memoranda, and other materials related to several named building and renovation projects administered by Jane Elchlepp, associate professor of pathology and the first assistant dean for planning (1965-1969). Materials date from 1962 to 1969.

Documents several long-range planning initiatives during the period 1952 to 1998, mainly in the form of reports by the such noted consulting firms as James A. Hamilton Associates, Hospital Consultants (1952); Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Management Consultants (1961); E. Todd Wheeler and Perkins & Will, Architects (1962); Caudill, Rowlett and Scott (1963); and American Health Facilities, Inc. (1973). The series culminates in the 1991 Long Range Plan and subsequent progress reports advancing the model of an "integrated academic health system." This model was formalized in 1997 by the incorporation of Duke University Health System, Inc., as a fully-owned subsidiary of Duke University. Materials date from 1952 to 1998.

Consists of medical center building renderings and other building project presentation materials in a variety of media and formats. Several of the paintings, watercolors, and photo reproductions are matted, having been removed from their original frames. A number of the photo reproductions are faded due to light exposure; the diagram of the Duke Center for Living Master Plan (FF04) is water-stained. Materials date from 1964 to 2013.
