Materials in Box 7 include photographs, negatives, and slides; mostly headshots. These materials appear to have come from the Division of Audiovisual Education. Names that are difficult to read have been photocopied from the original envelopes and rehoused with the materials. Headshots appear to have been taken for a directory.

The following images are, for the most part, listed in a roughly (and repeating) alphabetical format by last name of individual pictured or by subject matter.

Many of the films in Boxes 11 and 12 appear to be components of a larger film about Dr. David Sabiston and the Duke Department of Surgery.

Descriptions of the following images were taken directly from the envelopes that housed them. Dr. William Anlyan is named in almost all of the following descriptions and is pictured in most of the images, although not all.

Box 38 contains work by Elon Clark, Robert L. (Bob) Blake, and other unsigned works. Duke Halo Positioner materials in Box 39 include text and illustration to support the development of the Duke Halo Positioner. Work by William T. Hardaker, Jr., William O. Reed, David W. Vaughn, and Frank W. Clippinger. Facial features illustration speech materials contains materials pertaining to a speech given before Surgery Outpatient Clinic staff, basement of Baker House.

Slides in Box 8 were originally housed in a variety of ways: some were in slide boxes, some were in notebooks, and some were loose. When possible, the original order and labelling system has been retained, and general decriptions have been added to unlabelled slides. Some of the slides in Box 8 belonged to Ed Mastin, a photographer for the Dept. of Educational and Media Services. Slides in Box 21 were taken from two notebooks, both labeled 'Extra Slides and Dupes' and 'Extra Hospital Slides.' They have been removed from the notebooks, separated, and placed in folders.

Photographs in this subseries were included a surgical residents brochure created in 1996. Some of the photographs are of chief residents.

The following contact sheets and negatives were in folders labeled by number, but to what the numbers correspond is unknown. They have been refoldered and again labeled according to their number. The contact sheets themselves are sometimes identified, and these identifications have also been added to the new folder title. If they have not been identified, this has been noted, and a general idea of the image on the contact sheet has been noted, if possible. Some folders contain release forms and an explanation of the photoshoot. Not all numbers are in exact sequential order. Contact sheet number 857 is Frank Bassett and others at dedication of Frank Bassett Drive.
