Biographical / historical:

David A. Desautels was a founding member of the National Association for Cave Diving and a scholar on diving-related accidents and fatalities. He served as chair of the Hyperbaric Chamber Safety Committee of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. David A. Desautels edited "Mechanical Ventilation" (1985) along with Robert R. Kirby and Robert A. Smith.
