Scope and content:

Contains digital files from the following accessions: Accession A2019.047, Accession A2019.053, Accession A2019.061, Accession A2020.030, Accession A2021.001, Accession A2021.053. Includes the "Duke Surgery 2019 Year in Review" presentation, Surgery Residents composite photographs and rosters, numerous files pertaining to procedures done by the Department of Surgery, and the Department of Surgery's response to COVID-19 during the early months of the pandemic. Materials date from 2007 to 2021.

Processing information:

Material in this collection was processed using AXAEM's Electronic Records Processing module, which incorporates Bagger as a way to package electronic files with technical metadata. Captured digital content was ingested into AXAEM, where ClamAV Anti-Virus software detected and cleaned any computer viruses. The cleaned files were saved on the Duke University Medical Center Archives' secure server with a regular backup schedule. Includes 5907 files totaling 912.64 MB that are available for research: Accession A2019.047 (5 files totaling 7.16 MB), Accession A2019.053 (5 files totaling 1.16 MB), Accession A2019.061 (5871 files totaling 610.94 MB), Accession A2020.030 (5 files totaling 2.11 MB), Accession A2021.001 (15 files totaling 291 MB), Accession A2021.053 (6 files totaling 5.21 MB)

Accession A2019.047: contains a digital file of the Duke Surgery 2019 Year in Review presentation and is related to the materials in the Records Series.
Accession A2019.053: contains a composite photograph of the 2019-2020 Surgery Residents and is related to the materials in the Photographic Materials Series.
Accession A2019.061: contains financial and other administrative records pertaining to procedures done by the Department of Surgery; files are related to the Records Series.
