The program began in the late 1990s and consisted of five components: a Clinical Intervention Core, Screening and Outreach component, Mobile Dental Treatment Unit, Congregational Nursing Ministries, and Youth Programs. The Parish Nursing component was under the Divinity School and School of Nursing with funding from the Duke Endowment. The Parish Nursing component was active from 1999 to 2004.
