Scope and content:

Contains digital files from the following accessions: Accession A2010.017, Accession A2013.022, and Accession A2xxx.001 that document the Duke University School of Nursing. Topics include the daily lives of nursing students, DUSON class of 1963, and the Monday Update. Types of files include TIFFs, JPGs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDFs, image files, Visio, text files, and Publisher files. The original photographs (Accession A2013.022) date from the late 1950s to 1993. The digital files date from 2005 to 2013.

Processing information:

Material in this collection was processed using AXAEM's Electronic Records Processing module, which incorporates Bagger as a way to package electronic files with technical metadata. Captured digital content was ingested into AXAEM, where ClamAV Anti-Virus software detected and cleaned any computer viruses. The cleaned files were saved on the Duke University Medical Center Archives' secure server with a regular backup schedule. Includes 336 files totaling 286.9 MB that are available for research: Accession A2010.017 (31 files totaling 156 MB), Accession A2013.022 (158 files totaling 104 MB), and Accession A2xxx.001 (147 files totaling 26.9 MB).

Accession A2013.022: Contains digital photographs of Duke University School of Nursing class of 1963. These particular digital photographs do not relate to any other materials in the School of Nursing Records.
