- Scope and content:
-
Contains records related to a variety of state and national nursing and healthcare organizations who interacted with the North Carolina Licensed Practical Nurses Association (NCLPNA), including correspondence, data and statistics, publications, notes about legislative procedure, nursing education documents, grant proposals, position papers, and commission reports. Organizations heavily represented include the National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses, the State of North Carolina Department of Human Resources, various medical and nursing schools, the North Carolina Nurses Association, and the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Materials are arranged alphabetically by the name of organizations and chronologically. Master copies of certain documents were printed using Gestetner-brand mimeograph stencils; these materials are housed separately where indicated due to strong odor of the ink. Materials range in date from 1957 to 2004, and some are undated.
