Contains notebooks, conference papers, writings, agendas, participant lists, observer lists, publications, photographs, and published proceedings. The collection also contains thirty-eight 10-inch audio tape recordings of the third through eighth conferences (1978-1983), as well as CDs for 2004 and 2006. Materials range in date from 1977 to 2006.

Since the first conference in 1977, the annual Private Sector Conferences at Duke University have brought together disparate groups for dialogue around common interests. Conferences were held at various venues around the Duke University Medical Center. Duncan Yaggy or William G. Anlyan authored conference proceedings until 1994, when Vicki Saito and Ralph Snyderman became primary editors of the proceedings. In 1994, the conference name changed to Duke Private Sector Conferences, and, in 2002, the name changed to Duke Health Sector Conferences.
