Contains digital files from the following accessions: Accession A2017.046. Includes PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Excel and Word documents, JPGs, PDFs, audio, and video files. Digital materials pertain to Gilliss' presentations and projects during her time as dean of Duke's School of Nursing. All materials were created and/or stored on computers and removable media managed by Gilliss and her colleagues. Materials range in date from 2004 to 2014.

Material in this collection was processed using AXAEM's Electronic Records Processing module. Captured digital content was ingested into AXAEM, where ClamAV Anti-Virus software detected and cleaned any computer viruses. The cleaned files were saved on the Duke University Medical Center Archives' secure server with a regular backup schedule. Includes 126 files totaling 1.65 GB that are available for research: Accession A2017.046 (126 files totaling 1.65 GB).

Accession A2017.046: Materials in the Digital Files Series corresponds with materials in the Presentations and Speeches Series. Topics include the School of Nursing's 75th Anniversary video project; Strategic Planning; the Clipp Symposium on Trajectory Science (October 9, 2013); and the Global Health and Nursing, Fudan-Duke International Nursing Forum. The digital content was identified and moved from their original locations into the Digital Files Series. Each carrier was given a unique ID number, which is documented on the collection's digital files inventory. The inventory links each carrier back to the original folder the carrier was located in and is available at the Duke University Medical Center Archives.

Contains Medical Center Administrative records. These include records of the officers of the University, as defined in the Bylaws, the deans of schools and colleges, and departments, institutes, and other offices as designated by the President. For a period of twenty-five years from the origin of the material, permission in writing from the director of the office of record and the Medical Center Archivist is required for use. After twenty-five years, records that have been processed may be consulted with the permission of the Medical Center Archivist. (Issued by the Office of the Chancellor, December 1, 1975).
Contains Records of the Board of Trustees of the Duke University Medical Center. These include minutes and supporting documentation of the Board, its Executive Committee, standing and ad hoc committees, reports, studies, and the like presented solely to the Board. Records which have been existence for at least fifty years are available for scholarly research with the permission of the Medical Center Archivist. Access to records which have been in existence for less than fifty years shall be granted only by special permission, in writing, of the Medical Center Board of Trustees.
