Contains records pertaining to teleconferencing and the closed circuit television system at Duke University Medical Center, particularly the patient channel, which broadcast educational programming. The records appear to have originated from the office of Janice Palmer, former director of the Cultural Services Program, and include proposals from Tom Hurtgen and Gene Miller. Patient channel programming was coordinated by three groups: the Cultural Services Program controlled the menu of shows, Engineering and Operations handled transmission, and the Division of Audiovisual Education handled production. Cultural Services served as a facilitator of programming. They accepted tapes from faculty and employees who wanted their programs aired, and also took requests for new programming.
