Includes photographs, manuscript text, video files. Types of materials are the digital surrogates of photographs Dr. Charles B. Herron (Duke 1966) took during the Vietnam War; digital files from Walter E. Campbell's 2006 publication "Foundations for Excellence", a history of Duke Medicine; the Duke University School of Medicine "A Year Like No Other - A Video of Thanks Highlighting the School of Medicine's Response to COVID-19" video; Duke Health's "Keepers of the House" video and curriculum; Medical Education's "Memory Lane" video series; 2024 Match Day video and audio; and the short film "Dave" about Wilburt Cornell Davison. Materials date from 2005 to 2006, circa 2005, 2012 to 2024.

Processing information:

Material in this collection was processed using AXAEM's Electronic Records Processing module, which incorporates Bagger as a way to package electronic files with technical metadata. Captured digital content was ingested into AXAEM, where ClamAV Anti-Virus software detected and cleaned any computer viruses. The cleaned files were saved on the Duke University Medical Center Archives' secure server with a regular backup schedule. Includes 1,137 files totaling 8.65 GB are available for research: Accession A2011.080 (867 files totaling 2.4 GB) and Accession A2013.050 (229 files totaling 711 MB), Accession A2022.013 (5 files totaling 59.8 MB), Accession A2023.058 (6 files totaling 1.61 GB), Accession A2024.020 (12 files totaling 1.93 GB), Accession A2024.021 (6 files totaling 0.98 GB), Accession A2024.041 (12 files totaling 1.05 GB).

Files from Accession A2011.080 and Accession A2013.050 were part of the Duke University Medical Center Archive's digital files backlog.

Arrangement:

Accession A2011.080: contains digitized photographs from Dr. Charles Herron's (Duke SOM 1966) service during the Vietnam War. This material relates to the Gatherings and Alumni Series.

Accession A2013.050: contains the digitized photographs and text for Walter E. Campbell's 2006 publication "Foundations for Excellence," a history of Duke Medicine.

Accession A2022.013: contains the Duke University School of Medicine "A Year Like No Other - A Video of Thanks Highlighting the School of Medicine's Response to COVID-19" video.

Accession A2023.058: contains "Keepers of the House" documentary and supplemental curriculum.

Accession A2024.020: contains Medical Education's "Memory Lane" video series from 2024.

Accession A2024.021: contains Duke University School of Medicine's Match Day 2024 video and audio.

Accession A2024.041: contains the short film "Dave" made for the Osler Society about Wilburt Cornell Davison. The original DVD carrier for the files are located in AV16 Box 1 (AV16.0092).
