Medical Center Archives actively collects the official records of DUMC and DUHS departments and divisions, including a variety of materials that provide evidence of the business, interests, and activities through the years. Centralizing materials and relieving individual offices of the burden of storing and servicing records promotes reater and more efficient use of records. Archives is supported by the Health System and the School of Medicine and is administratively part of the Medical Center Library.

The Chief Resident interviews are part of the Chief Resident Interview Project. The interviewees discuss their family background, education background, and experiences at Duke. Materials date to 2018.

Includes 5 oral history interviews with the Department of Surgery's 2018 Chief Residents as part of the Chief Resident Interview Project. Includes a master CD.

Contains planning materials for the upcoming fiscal year, supporting materials from the calendar years preceding the first fiscal year, and records created during that year. Materials include correspondence, budgets, reports, society and professional organization materials, surveys, committee materials, newspaper clippings, and appointment, promotion and tenure materials.

Contains bound volumes and refoldered books of specifications roughly ordered by project code or commission code, which varied by contractor and Duke's assignment of numbers. These specification books contain the "final construction" or "for building" volumes, drafts, or review copies for Duke University Medical Center laboratories, clinics, offices, apartments, parking lots, utilities, and renovations. Materials date from 1930 to 1994.

Contains research materials for studies and surveys on the subjects of long-term health care, the willingness to pay for health care, living arrangement and long-term health care decisions, and continuing care retirement communities. Materials date from 1981 to 2002.

Contains DREZ procedure historical materials including photos, slides, patient records; consultation correspondence; a brain stem model, videotape of procedure; reprints; manuscript materials; lecture notes; travel notes; professional organization files. Materials range in date from 1967 to 2000.
